Ms. Duirsien notes that before Konbit Sante nurses at Justinien Hospital were in an untenable position. The pediatric service had no supply of essential medicines, and nurses found themselves unable to offer these young patients what they most urgently needed. Tragically, this meant that children might die before parents could raise the money and visit pharmacies to purchase the prescribed medicines for their young hospitalized children.

Thanks to Konbit Sante’s support, medication is now on hand in the pediatric service and neither parents nor their children hear these tragic words, “We’d like to help, but we don’t have the medicine.”

This year’s pediatric fundraiser focuses on supporting Konbit Sante pediatric nurses. Your donations help reduce newborn mortality and improve pediatric outcomes by paying nurses’ salaries, providing training and supervision, and providing emergency medicines so families can receive treatment regardless of their ability to pay.
