4 new members named to Board of Directors

We are proud to announce that we have added four new members to Konbit Sante’s Board of Directors:

Frank (Rich) Feeley, JD: Rich trained as a lawyer and began his career in the United States with government agencies managing publicly funded health insurance and the regulation of health providers. Over the past 30 years, he has worked on problems of health financing and management in more than 25 developing and transitional countries. He has served on the boards of two Boston-area hospitals, and is former chair ad interim of the Department of Global Health Department at Boston University of Public Health, where he recently retired as an associate professor. He holds an undergraduate degree from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University and a doctorate of jurisprudence from Yale University.

Meike Schleiff, DrPH, MSPH: Meike is an assistant scientist at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where she teaches courses and works on community health and primary healthcare research and technical assistance projects in East Africa and India, and on global capacity strengthening initiatives for public health systems. She has over a decade of experience working in North Haiti, including in education and public health projects, several in collaboration or volunteering with Konbit Sante.

Adam Silverman, MD: Adam provides clinical care in the pediatric intensive care unit and in the emergency department at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford, CT. He is co-founder and director of the hospital’s Center for Global Health, and collaborates on multiple programs in Haiti to increase local capacity for pediatric care through innovative collaborative educational activities. He is also assistant professor of pediatrics at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Adam holds a BA from Tufts University, an MA from Boston University, and an MD from the Rosalind Franklin University Chicago Medical School.

Michael Tranfaglia, BA, BS: Michael has more than 35 years of healthcare experience as a physician assistant. He has been part of the Portland medical community since 1993, working with several surgical and medical practices. He also is an adjunct clinical instructor at Tufts School of Medicine. Michael holds a BA from Mercy College/University of Detroit and a BS from the University of Massachusetts at Boston.
