Nate and Nan Paddle 30 Miles!

July 25, 2024

Dear all,

Friday, Nan and I paddled 30 meandering miles of the Saco River from Fryeburg to Hiram, Maine, for the “move” part of our “Stand with Haiti. Move with Konbit” fundraiser campaign.  That was the furthest either of us had paddled in a day, so we definitely felt it!

The weather was sunny, and while a bit on the hot side, there was an easy headwind… so it was all good.   We saw very few people on the river but a little wildlife along the way: a few deer, an eagle, geese, sandpipers, kingfishers, a heron, and plenty of deer flies.

Thanks again for all who have supported this effort to date!  While we haven’t yet reached our ambitious goal, we are grateful to for all of your support, and can assure you that all of the funds raised will be put to good use in Haiti (the “stand with…” part).

If you are so inclined, it is not too late to start your own personal campaign page. All participation is welcome!

Thank you again for being part of this Konbit!

Peace,

Nate & Nan Nickerson
