Konbit Sante Announces New Officers and Interim Executive Director

At the October meeting of the board of directors, Konbit Sante elected the following officers: Eva Lathrop, MD, MPH is now President, Youseline Telemaque, MD is now Vice President, Jonathon Simon, MPH, DSc is now Secretary, and Frank (Rich) Feeley, JD, is Treasurer.
Dr. Lathrop trained at Maine Medical Center and is Global Medical Director for Population Services International (PSI), a non-profit global health organization based in Washington DC. Prior to joining PSI, she was an associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology and global health at Emory University.
Dr. Telemaque is a Haitian obstetrician, gynecologist, and family planning expert who is a leader in the field of reproductive health, family planning, and women’s rights in Haiti. She has headed family planning programs for various international NGOs, including the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and Jhpiego.
Jonathan Simon recently retired from the Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (MCA) Department of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva, Switzerland, a position he assumed after a 30-year career in public health research and teaching focused on child survival.
Rich Feeley has worked on problems of health financing and management in more than 25 developing and transitional countries. He recently retired as an associate professor of the Department of Global Health at Boston University.
The organization also promoted Tezita Negussie, MSW, MPH to Interim Executive Director. Tezita has more than 15 years of experience working in Zimbabwe, the United States, Haiti, and Ethiopia focusing on the health of women and children, immigrant and refugee groups, and economically marginalized communities. Within Konbit Sante she previously held the positions of program specialist, program manager, and country director.
