For more than 20 years, Konbit Sante has partnered with Justinien University Hospital to strengthen pediatric care.
During a typical month, Justinien University Hospital’s pediatricians and nurses care for 550 children in the outpatient unit and admit an average of 101 patients. Neonatal disorders, diarrheal diseases, and respiratory tract infections are the three leading causes of hospitalization. Today, with political instability, soaring inflation, and scarcity of food, the pediatric unit is seeing increasing numbers of patients and more malnourished patients.
We’ve come a long way, but there is still more to do.
“I remember those days when we lack of everything. Since then, a lot of progress has been made thanks to Konbit Sante support. Having Dr. Muscadin as part of the team is definitely a plus and will benefit the pediatrics department beyond expectations. She is one of the most skilled and most compassionate Haitian pediatricians I ever met.”
