At the very start of this summer’s Stand. Move. campaign, a long-anticipated moment was unfolding in Cap-Haitien—pediatric patients were being moved into the brand-new pediatric wing at Justinien University Hospital.
If you’ve been to Haiti with us before, you may remember the old pediatric ward: cramped, dark, dingy and – frankly – inadequate.
The new pediatric ward is brightly painted, well-ventilated, and completely updated—providing children and their families with a cleaner, safer, and far more dignified environment for healing.

Justinien University Hospital is now one of the last remaining tertiary hospitals in the entire country. In the midst of instability and violence, it stands as a beacon of care. And this new pediatric ward? It is considered the crown jewel of Haiti’s healthcare system.
This achievement is the result of years of collaboration between Konbit Sante, Justinien University Hospital, the Ministry of Health (MSPP), and you—our steadfast donors and partners.
During the Stand & Move campaign, nearly 200 donors helped raise more than 98% of our $60,000 goal. While you were moving with us this summer, patients were literally being moved into a better, brighter future. This is what we can do together!
What’s Next
We cannot wait to see what comes next for this new space, for the pediatric staff, and for the children whose lives will be shaped here. Thank you for making this transformation possible, for believing in Haiti’s healthcare system, and for standing with us through every challenge.

August is National Make A Will Month: If you’d like your impact to last for generations, one way is by including Konbit Sante in your will or estate plans, helping ensure that Haiti’s children always have a place to heal and thrive.
