Since 2015, Konbit Sante has hosted a “Mothers Club” in Fort St. Michel, a community of Cap-Haitien, to train mothers about important programs offered by the Ministry of Health on maternal and child care.
Each group is educated on a variety of topics, such as the importance of breast-feeding exclusively for the first 6 months, how to avoid malnutrition, family planning, and vaccinations. When they finish the program, participants receive a certificate in a graduation ceremony, and can then train the next group of mothers.
It’s another great example of a konbit — people coming together to help each other. Congratulations to the latest graduates!
