For more than a decade, Konbit Sante has hosted the Maine Walks with Haiti 5K walk/run in Portland, Maine, to build a sustainable health system in northern Haiti. It is our largest annual fundraiser, and its success is essential to funding our work throughout the year.Â
In 2020, we replaced the event with a virtual fundraiser, We Walk with Haiti. The event will be virtual again this year as we continue to recover from and accommodate for COVID. Participants from all over the U.S. and the world are encouraged to get involved and spread the word! With your support, KS can continue our work.
Konbit Sante partners with the Ministry of Health in Haiti and with four Haitian healthcare facilities—two hospitals and two health centers. We support their efforts to provide high-quality care to their community by procuring and shipping needed supplies, medications, and equipment; providing training and joint problem solving; supporting research to improve delivery of care; strengthening community outreach and immunizations; providing funding for facilities improvements and construction; and much more. Funds raised from We Walk with Haiti will help ensure that this work continues.
When the event is active, there are a number of ways to participate:
Ask friends, colleagues, and family members to support your efforts as you raise funds. Creating a fundraising page is easy, free, and a great way to spread your support of Konbit Sante. Once you create an individual fundraising page, you have the option to also create a team page and ask others to join.
Sponsorships have always been crucial in helping us meet our fundraising goal. Several sponsorship levels are available.
Many people support us by simply giving a financial gift. We welcome all levels of support!
