The year of 2010 was one of unprecedented tragedy. In January the country was rocked with a 7.0 magnitude earthquake that struck the heart of the country in Port-au-Prince. Then in October a serious cholera outbreak began. We are not a relief organization, but because of the severity of the impact these events have had on the local population and the additional strain they placed on our partner institutions, we were compelled to extend ourselves in new ways to assist them in responding to these crises.
Following the earthquake we knew that our partners working for the Ministry of Health in Cap-Haitien would need more resource and logistical support than usual to deal with this unprecedented situation.
