Hello Family and Friends,
As you know, we have been involved in Haiti for more than fifteen years with Konbit Sante, which you have supported generously over the years and for which we are deeply grateful. On May 13, 2017, we will be participating in Konbit Sante's 8th Annual Maine Walks/Runs with Haiti, for which we have created this personal campaign page. We would be deeply grateful for whatever support you might provide for this event. The funds that are raised through the Walk/Run are vital to the programs that Konbit Sante supports in Cap-Haitien, Haiti.
As shown above, in late January 2016, Polly, two of her daughters, Leigh Greenberg and Wendy Price, and her sister Fran Rogers Zilkha, traveled to Cap-Haitien to see first-hand the improvements to and resulting strengthening of the health care system that are attributable to Konbit Sante’s involvement over the past fifteen years. Their journey included visits to four of Konbit Sante’s Cap-Haitien partnership, two hospitals and two health centers, as well as to the Center for Nutrition and Education of Women and Children, with tours led by our executive director, Nate Nickerson, and/or Community Health Program Manager Clotilde (“Tijo”) Saint Jean, RN. We are delighted to note that “Tijo” will be joining us in Maine for the Walk/Run.
Thank you for your consideration and your ongoing generous support of Konbit Sante. If you happen to be in the Portland area over Mother’s Day weekend, please walk or run with us, rain or shine, on May 13th.
Steve and Polly
