Support Staff
There are many other essential components to a functioning health system besides health care workers. We support several people who do very important work “behind the scenes” to ensure patients are able to get the care they need.

Dejali Violene, FSM Lab Technician
Dejali was recently hired as the new lab technician at Fort St. Michel. In the fall of 2007, Konbit Sante began supporting this position so that tuberculosis sputum samples would be process in a timely and accurate fashion. She plays an important part in identifying and treating infectious disease in the community.

Edy Joseph, Chief Translator
Edy was born in Cap-Haitien at Justinian Hopital. He learned English in high school; it was always his favorite subject. Edy became a part of the Konbit Sante family in 2004 and has made invaluable contributions. His winning smile, sense of humor, positive attitude, diplomacy skills, and connections in the community have all helped us build relationships and accomplish objectives in the face of many obstacles. A jack of all trades, Edy is instantly adored by staff and volunteers alike for his willingness to do whatever he can to help out (including serving as our back up driver). For Edy, the best part about working with us is the opportunity to build close relationships across cultures through our interactive approach.

Ketlie Deslandes, JUH Stock Assistant
Ketlie became a part of our team in 2008 when the supply depot manager at Justinian Hospital went to Port-au-Prince for a year of training. Isemanie Lucien, JUH Stock Manager
In 2006, Isemanie received an appointment from the Ministry of Health and additional support from Konbit Sante to organize and manage the supply depot at Justinian Hospital in her home town of Cap-Haitien. With a clear vision and the strength of her personality, she was able to transform the depot and institute inventory controls for the first time. From fall 2008 she entered a special management training program in Port-au-Prince as part of the PARC program. She has recently returned to her post at Justinian to put into practice her newly acquired skills.

Josue Limprevil, Electrical Technician
Josue received his electricity training at a tradeschool in Cap-Haitien. He was a bright student who showed great skill so was recommended to Konbit Sante by the director of the school in 2005. We were looking for an electrical technician to help solve and prevent electrical problems at Justinian Hospital. Since that time he has worked hard to address these issues on a regular basis and has assisted teams of volunteers completing infrastructure projects.
