Executive Director Nate Nickerson recently reported from Haiti that UN officials visited the new spinal cord rehabilitation center that has just been completed. The center, a joint project between Konbit Sante and Haiti Hospital Appeal, was partially funded by MINUSTAH, the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti. It will serve up to 20 inpatients, and many more outpatients. This is a direct outgrowth of our efforts to address healthcare infrastructure after the earthquake, and is the only facility of its kind in Northern Haiti. This center will serve people with serious spinal injuries into the future. Nate reports that the UN visitors were very impressed with the project.
